Didgeridoos

All our didgeridoos are Australian made by didgeridoo makers and artists all around Australia. The wood used is from our Australian eucalyptus trees which are hollowed out by termites.

We give our customers the option of not only having a didgeridoo that plays but one that looks beautiful while being traditionally painted.

G’day to all you art lovers out there! Thanks for stopping by Gifts at the Quay! Here you’ll find one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Australian-made gifts and souvenirs, as well as one of the largest didgeridoo shops in Sydney.

What’s a didgeridoo?

The didgeridoo is thought to be one of Australia’s oldest wind instruments and was likely played by Aboriginal peoples as early as 40,000 years ago.

Didgeridoos are made from eucalyptus, bamboo or agave branches that have been hollowed out by termites, machines or by hand. It can be played either as a percussion instrument by tapping or beating on the wood or as a wind instrument by blowing air across the didgeridoo’s mouth.

The didgeridoo produces an ethereal, low-pitched humming sound made by continuously blowing into the end of the instrument. These days it’s used to produce traditional music, but it can also be found in rock, rap, blues, electronic and many other music styles.

We offer a range of unique, handcrafted didgeridoos for sale on our site – browse our collection today and start making some music!

Finding the perfect didgeridoo

If this is your first time buying a didgeridoo, let us help you find the right one!

We work with several artists to create didgeridoos, each one unique. When choosing the right didgeridoo, consider elements such as:

Length and width. The length and width of a didgeridoo determine what pitch or key it produces. Wall thickness. Extremely thick walls can impact the volume of your didgeridoo, while thin walls can cause increased amounts of vibration. Shape. Didgeridoos come in a range of shapes, from perfectly straight to wildly curved. Your experience level. Are you just starting out or already a seasoned didgeridoo player? The appearance. Do you prefer the look of a natural wood finish, or do you like something a little more decorative?

No matter what you’re looking for, Gifts at the Quay offers a wide variety of Australian-made didgeridoos, ensuring that you’ll be able to find the perfect instrument for your taste and needs.
